From October 10, 2019 to November 8, 2019, survivors may apply for financial assistance available through One Fund El Paso.
One Fund El Paso is an entity established by the City of El Paso, the El Paso Community Foundation, and the Paso del Norte Community Foundation to streamline the process of distributing donated funds to victims of the Aug. 3 mass shooting, and their families. Our attorneys are available to provide free civil legal services to low-income survivors of
Establishing heirs and estates of the deceased in order to access benefits and bank accounts;
Applying for survivor or disability benefits with the Social Security Administration;
Assisting with applications for unemployment benefits and appealing denials of those benefits;
Negotiating with mortgage companies and landlords requesting payments;
Assisting with the prevention of repossession of vehicles;
Assisting with applications for Crime Victims’ Compensation benefits and appealing denials of those benefits;
Assisting children and families with school-related issues as a result of the shooting;
Resolving problems with the enrollment of children in school because of changes in household composition.
