The Public Benefits: Veteran's Benefits Team
The Objectives
- Provide legal assistance to help veterans gain access to benefits, including service connected and non-service connected disability claims.
- Help families of deceased veterans get survivor and other benefits owed by the state.
- Collaborate with veteran service providers in each county to conduct outreach and to increase the number of people given legal options.
Our Activities
- Provide brief service and/ or advice to veterans and their families.
- Represent clients in administrative veterans’ cases.
- Litigate veterans’ cases.
- Work with the Texas Veterans Commission’s service officers to handle cases they cannot.
- Conduct outreach and education activities with veteran service groups.
