Disaster Resources

TRLA provides free legal services to low-income disaster survivors facing legal problems such as replacing lost documents, filing appeals when the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has denied aid, handling insurance claims, and dealing with the contractor scams that can emerge when communities are trying to rebuild.  Survivors seeking legal aid should call our hotline (866) 757-1570 between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. The hotline receives far more calls than our limited staff can handle, so please be patient. Our hotline staff will be able to determine if you are income-eligible for TRLA services. TRLA has also created fact sheets and videos that explain your legal rights and options as a disaster survivor (see following links).
